Position Title: Cabin Counselor (Must be 18 or older)


General Responsibilities: Provide a safe, fun and values-focused camp experience for each camper. Each cabin has two counselors assigned full time. The counselor acts as a mentor to one or two junior counselors assigned to assist them in the cabin. Daily responsibilities include leading activities, being in the cabin with the campers during quiet time and cabin time, eating with campers and helping campers get up and go to bed, supervising and participating in cabin clean-up, and participating in chapel and campfire as well as assuring adequate supervision of dorms overnight. Other responsibilities includes playground supervision, planning and leading campfire, supervising meal lines and table setting, leading evening activities, and night-time watch of camper dorms.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop a positive, welcoming and nurturing atmosphere for all campers and staff.
  • Provide ongoing supervision for all campers, making sure they are safe, secure, having fun and fitting in to the camp program.
  • Provide individual attention to each child, while developing a team environment for groups.
  • Assist in planning daily and weekly schedules that will be fun, safe and provide opportunities for skill development. Utilize staff for teaching special activities.
  • Participate in all activities with campers. Be an excellent role model for campers to follow.
  • Learn and lead games, songs, skits and other activities for groups and the entire camp.
  • Interact with all campers in camp. Make sure each child feels appreciated and successful.
  • Help out with all camp activities and participate as a member of the camp staff team.
  • Assist with keeping camp clean and well maintained. Guide and participate in fulfilling camp chores and cabin clean-up duties during each week.
  • Abide by all policies and procedures outlined in the Code of Conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Title: Junior Counselor/J-Crew

General Responsibilities: J-Crew divides their time between two aspects of support staff. The first role is working as cabin support for counselors, assuming the entire daily and occasional responsibilities as a counselor as listed in the job description. The second role as support staff is in the kitchen preparing and cleaning up meals. In the kitchen, responsibilities rotate between meal preparation, dishes, cleaning pots & pans, putting away leftovers, etc. Work in the kitchen is under the direction of the Head or Lead cooks on each shift.

 

Responsibilities:

Position Title: Assistant Camp Director


The Assistant Camp Director works under the direct supervision of the Camp Director. The Assistant Camp Director is second in command to the Camp Director, directs J-Crew and oversees Arts and Crafts.


Salary and Benefits:


-Stipend based on experience

-Room and board provided on site

 

Responsibilities:


-Responsible for arts and crafts planning and programming

-Manage J-crew scheduling and personnel

-Serve as acting camp director in event of sickness, time off, etc.

-Lead kayak trip during Explorations
-Fill in leading programs as needed

-Lead a small group of summer staff for reflections, etc

-Share responsibilities in wake-ups, cleanest/quietest cabin, and inspections -Assist in planning activities

-Help lead staff orientation

-Lead Counselor in Training program during Hang Out/Work and Stuff

-Be responsible for CITs during RR III

-Abide by all policies laid out in Orientation and the Staff Manual

-Other duties as needed

 

Qualifications:

 

-Age 18+

-High School Graduate

-Camp leadership experience

-First Aid/CPR certified

-Lifeguard Certified
