We strive to hire a diverse group of individuals who are committed to providing a safe, positive and nurturing environment for the campers we serve and the residential staff who live and work at St. Dorothy’s for the duration of the summer.

Review the application questions. You are encouraged to save your answers in a separate Word document and the transfer information into the online form once completed. You will not be able to save your staff application form!

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The camp season runs from June 18, 2023 to August 1 2023 (J-Crew only) and August 6, 2023 (Counselors only). Staff are encouraged to work the entire season; however, exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. If you are NOT available for a session, you must note it on your application.
Application deadline for priority consideration is February 28th, 2023. (Interviews will be scheduled for mid-March 2023)
Cabin Counselor
Cabin Counselors (Counselors) are 18+ years old and high school graduates. Each cabin has at least one counselor with them full time. Besides being responsible for the cabin, the Cabin Counselor acts as a mentor to the J-Crew assigned to the cabin.
Counselors are expected to abide by all camp policies and the employment agreement. Most importantly, Counselors are responsible for the safety and well-being of campers at all times.
Daily Responsibilities:

Lead 3 activities per day

Be present in cabin during quiet time and cabin time

Eat with campers at all meals
-
Help campers get up in the morning and put them to bed at night
-
Supervise cabin clean-up
-
Participate in morning and evening gatherings and campfire
Occasional Responsibilities:
-
Supervise playground
-
Plan and lead campfire
-
Monitor canteen
-
Supervise meal lines and table setting
-
Plan and lead evening activities
-
Night-time cabin watch
-
Attend staff meetings
-
Camp Flow – keep camp on schedule!
J-Crew
J-Crew are 16+ years old and spend half their time in the kitchen and half their time in cabin. In the cabin, J-Crew members share in all the same responsibilities as cabin counselors. In the kitchen, J-Crew members are responsible for helping to prepare and clean up meals and are under the supervision of the kitchen shift manager. All kitchen workers are expected to stay in the kitchen until all cleanup jobs are completed. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, J-Crew are expected to abide by camp policies and the employment agreement.
